Well here it is, the latest episode of something I've been working on for many months: a gameplay series focusing on the adventures of my character Aefion Bloodclaw.  Its all in character, as a Bosmer mage-thief treasure hunter, and you can watch episode 8 right here!

Well its about time!  That's right people, my work is to be published!  It's my science fiction short story Star Heart, and its gonna be published in the August 20th issue of Larks Fiction Magazine.  As to how this came to be: A subeditor of Aurora Wolf magazine asked me to do a rewrite for the story and resubmit it.  This I did, but it turned out that the next anthology was to be a paranormal theme, not science fiction.  So the editor didn't want it.  A bit miffed I have to admit, but not really surprised since I'm used to rejection, I simply thought to send the story somewhere else.  So off it went to LFM.  15 minutes later I got another email and you know how sometimes u can see the first part of the message but not all of it?  It basically said "Thank you for your interest and submission to Larks Fiction Magazine. After reviewing your piece..."  So yeah, I thought it was another rejection.  I opened the email and was delighted and overwhelmed to find that the rest of the message said "I would be interested in publishing it in the August 20th edition of Larks."  

So, while I won't be getting paid for this submission, because LFM is more about promoting upcoming and new authors, it does get my boot in the door.  I am one step closer to my dream

Andy Lex Bain is a 29 year old writer who resides in Tasmania. He enjoys writing, reading, roleplaying with his club The Blades of Valour, bushwalking and watching movies and anime. He aspires to be a full-time published author and basically spends his days slaving away at his computer ShadowLord.

His writing career began basically whilst watching classic fantasy movies such as The Never Ending Story and Labyrinth, and playing old roleplaying games like HeroQuest. He was then inspired to create his own fictional world and write stories to take place within it.

His favourite genres to read are : Heroic Fantasy and High Fantasy.

His favourite books include: The Broken Sword by Poul Anderson, Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, Elric of Melnibone by Michael Moorcock, Darker Than You Think by Jack Williamson, Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, anything by C.L. Werner and many others.

He has often been described as an Elf in a human body due to some of his attributes and physical characteristics. Which is not a bad thing!  

Current writing project:

I am currently submitting my novel manuscript, called Starshard: The Seventh Gate, to agents. I am also submitting short stories to magazines for publication.
